By accessing or using PricePulse ("the Extension", "Service", "we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Extension.

2. Description of Service

PricePulse is a Chrome browser extension that:

• Tracks product prices on Takealot.com
• Provides historical price data and trend analysis
• Sends notifications when tracked product prices change
• Allows users to set target price alerts (Premium feature)
• Syncs watchlists across devices for registered users

3. User Accounts and Tiers

3.1 Account Types

• Anonymous: No account required, local storage only, limited to 5 watchlist items
• Basic: Free account with email registration, up to 50 watchlist items, cloud sync
• Premium: Paid subscription, unlimited watchlist, advanced features (target price alerts, extended history)

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information during registration
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Take responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Use

You may use PricePulse for personal, non-commercial price tracking purposes.

4.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Attempt to circumvent tier limitations or rate limits
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
• Scrape, spider, or crawl our servers or databases
• Use the Service to violate any laws or third-party rights
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Share your account credentials with others
• Create multiple accounts to bypass limitations

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of PricePulse is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of data as described therein.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Ownership

PricePulse, including all code, design, graphics, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension

6.2 Third-Party Data

Product data displayed by PricePulse is sourced from Takealot.com. We do not claim ownership of product titles, descriptions, or images. This data is used solely for price tracking purposes.

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy of price data (discrepancies may occur)
• Availability of all features at all times
• Compatibility with future browser or website updates

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with or without notice.

8. Subscription and Billing (Premium Tier)

8.1 Pricing

Premium subscription pricing is displayed on our website. Prices are subject to change with notice.

8.2 Billing

• Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually (as selected)
• Payment is processed via third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe)
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date

8.3 Cancellation and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial periods unless required by law
• Beta testers may receive promotional free Premium access as specified in the beta program

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:< p>

• Uninstalling the Extension (Anonymous users)
• Deleting your account through the Extension settings (Registered users)

9.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms of Service
• Your account is involved in fraudulent or illegal activity
• You engage in abusive behavior toward other users or our team
• Your payment method fails (Premium users)

Termination may result in deletion of your data per our data retention policy.

10. Disclaimers

PRICEPULSE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of price data
• Freedom from errors, viruses, or harmful components

PricePulse is an informational tool. We are not responsible for your purchasing decisions or any losses incurred from using the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or R100, whichever is greater)
• We are not responsible for third-party actions (e.g., Takealot changing their website)

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of PricePulse
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of material changes via:

• Extension notification
• Email (for registered users)
• Updated "Last Updated" date

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.

15. Third-Party Services

PricePulse may integrate with third-party services (e.g., payment processors, email providers). Use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
